Nanny's Message to Families
Dear Family,
Hello! My name is Melissa and I am twenty-three years old. I am expecting to graduate with an associate’s degree in General Studies, from a local community college in December 2008. I like to look at myself as a random act of life. I love to laugh and have fun, and I love to make people smile. I know when to be professional and I know when it is the right time to have fun. I love to work and when I am dedicated to a task, I will finish it and will finish it well. I love to keep an up beat and positive attitude no matter what the situation. I have never worked with children; however, I have always been told how well I interact with them. The reason why I want to work with children is because they have this unique way of looking at life, and they make you want to live that way too. I have been working since I was sixteen years old, and even though I live with my parents I pay all my own bills. The reason I am only graduating with an associate’s degree is because the first year I went to college (following high school) I was not focused, and then in the fall of 2005 I took a year off. When I returned I brought up my GPA, and made the Dean’s List. Since then I have obtained good grades. My current work is a sales associate at a store here at home. I work full time now and I also go to classes twice a week. I know that with my lack of child care, I am may not be the right person for the job, but if you give me a chance I know I can prove otherwise.
